I attach a letter which provides more detail for the local GP on the medicines we use and their mechanism of action in the context of cancer.
The protocol and dosage we would normally prescribe for a patient with your father’s type of cancer is: Atorvastatin 40 mg once daily for the first two weeks, increased to 80 mg once daily thereafter, 500 mg Metformin once daily for the first two weeks, increased to 500 mg twice daily thereafter; Mebendazole 100 mg once daily for a month at which point it is alternated with Doxycycline 100 mg once daily for one month before returning to the Mebendazole again and continuing to alternate from month to month in this fashion.
The GP would need to ensure blood levels (including liver and kidney function) are satisfactory prior to prescribing and ideally conduct further bloods at monthly intervals.
